Escape! Grabbed Backpack or Bag

We received a lot of questions about our last blog post (See it HERE) regarding what to do if your bags are grabbed but you cannot get free because they are strapped to your body. A good example of this scenario is a backpack.


Watch the 30 second video below for just one example. We will post another one in the future.


Remember, the important thing is to "JUST GET AWAY", not to stay and fight for your possessions. By using the bag to throw them off balance, you buy a moment of time to drop the bag.


Leaving the bag accomplishes two things:

1) If they want the bag, they will take it and leave you alone, and

2) It makes you more mobile to be able to run faster to seek help.


We recommend practicing these motions. A backpack can free up your hands when traveling, which affords you many positive benefits related to self-defense. However, if it becomes a hindrance to your safety, this technique can get you free.
